Trauma-informed, somatic-centered counseling and community connections
I believe that all people deserve to be understood, seen and helped to heal. My intention is to provide a safe space where you feel supported without fear, judgement or criticism.
I view people’s stories through a trauma-informed lens and utilize an eclectic approach that emphasizes principles of somatic experiencing, emotion focused therapy, body/brain connection and internal family systems in order to facilitate growth and healing. I believe in a holistic approach to mental health, addressing both the mind and body. This takes place through individual, family or relationship counseling as well as community education.
I have always approached life as an outside-of-the-box thinker and that continues to be true in my approach to counseling. I'm not here to provide expert opinions or carefully-crafted solutions. Instead, I am here to support you through honesty, transparency, awareness and information.
I am a queer therapist in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I became a counselor after working through the impact of anxiety and PTSD in my own life and recognizing that most people have experienced chronic stress and trauma, too. The more I understood, the more I wondered: Why weren't conversations about the impact of trauma on the brain and body a normalized part of
healthcare as whole?
I do not claim to have all the answers, but I have learned a few things and I am passionate about passing on what I have learned. I work hard to create a safe space for everyone, especially anyone who feels "othered" by society. It feels so very simple and complex to say "I believe you" but, honestly, I really do.
